HVAC Technician
This course will prepare you for an entry-level HVAC technician position.
HVAC training covers topics on the exam for the EPA 608 certification, which must be held by technicians who handle refrigerants. This course is offered as a hybrid, face-to-face and distance education course. In the first phase of training, you will prepare for the North American Technician Excellence Ready-To-Work Certificate by studying component identification, tools, math and measurement, general safety, electrical safety, and basic heat transfer. You will also do some workforce preparation activities. When you have completed Phase I, you will enter the second phase of training. You will use an online course to learn core definitions, small appliances, high pressure appliances, and low pressure appliances in preparation for the EPA 608 certification exam. This course is offered remotely at the CRC in partnership with Broadview Learning Center in Bloomington.
Cost: May be free to those who are eligible through WorkOne. If not eligible, the cost is $3,370.
